About

Alex KrumwiedeBorn in Pontiac, Michigan, in 1983, with a birth defect which forced doctors to amputate his right leg. Raised by his mother, he dealt with wearing a prosthesis as an everyday-occurence, and despite his disability hindering athletic pursuits, he enjoyed art and paleontology while growing up. Moving through a progression of private schools through his early years, he was accepted to the Roeper School for Gifted Children for 7th and 8th grade.

Instead of attending a traditional higschool, he was homeschooled, and explored both his art, and the internet. In what would have been his senior year of highschool, he attended community college, reaching the Dean’s list several times in the course of his attendance. A semester at Wayne State University proved fruitful, and in the fall of ’07, he began attending Kendall College of Art & Design, graduating in 2010.

In 2003, he was hired as a sprite artist by Norseman Games, LLC, working on artwork for The Realm Online. In 2005, he began working on a personal project which eventually became Nightmares in the Dark.
